ANU Requests Official Restoration of Greater Ethiopia’s Red Sea & Geezland!
08.09.2025
We, the Agaezi National Union (ANU), political party struggling to restore our Red Sea and Aksumite Civilization (Greater Geez Nation, Ethiopia) would like to remind everyone that our natural and legal property of the Ethiopian Geezland, People and Red Sea have been illegally, immorally and treasonously cut off in the name of Eritrea Temporary State. This is the worst national treason ever that should be revoked with absolute determination and in full terms. Eritrea has never been a recognized separate state in history and ANU provides the following legal and historical solid arguments for revoking Eritrea as temporary state and requesting its official restoration to its motherland Ethiopia.
- Legal arguments:The international and domestic (national) legal instruments and decisions ensure that Eritrea’s secession from its motherland Ethiopia is totally illegal and inadmissible.
- International legal instruments:The 1952 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Decision Article 390V and the International Colonial Treaties indicate that Eritrea is one administrative region of Ethiopia with its Red Sea. This UNGA decision underlined two fundamental points; 1. Eritrea to reunite with its motherland Ethiopia and both the Asseb and Massa ports including the Dahlak and other islands as the sovereign properties of Ethiopia. In addition, the 1900, 1902 and 1908 Colonial treaties have been revoked, made null and void by the Italian regime as it officially violated these treaties and occupied Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia from 1935-1941 and other sovereign territories of Ethiopia.
- Domestic (National) legal instruments: There is no single constitution in Ethiopia that recognizes Eritrea’s secession. In fact, The Constitution of Ethiopia 04 November 1955, during Emperor Haile Selase, Article 1 underlines: “The Empire of Ethiopia comprises all the territories including the islands, and the territorial waters, under the sovereignty of Ethiopian Crown. Its sovereignty and territories are indivisible. Its territories and the sovereignty rights therein are inalienable. All Ethiopian subjects, whether living within or out the Empire constitute the Ethiopian people.” Secondly, the Constitution of Ethiopia 1987 during Mengstu Hailemariam, Article 2 underlines : “The People’s Democratic Republic of Ethiopia is a sovereign state whose territory comprising the land, air space and territorial waters, including the islands, is indivisible and inviolable.” Thirdly, the rule of party TPLF government spurious constitution during TPLF Meles Zenawi, Article 39 Rights of Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples sub article 1, that underlines: “Every Nation, Nationality and People in Ethiopia has an unconditional right to self-determination, including the right to secession.” was not in existence in 1985 Geez calendar (developed two years later in 1987).
- Historical Arguments:Regardless of the 1952 UN General Assembly decision, Eritrea to be confederated with Ethiopia and both ports (Aseb and Mistwae or Massawa) including islands such as Dahlak to be under the Ethiopian sovereignty, TPLF accused, King of kings Yohannes IV and General Alula Abanega as foreign colonial powers in Eritrea and committed treason against Greater Ethiopia. TPLF military junta leader Meles Zenawi was not a formal government of Ethiopia rather a transitional government with no legitimate power to trigger and declare secession of Eritrea in 1985 Geez calendar. All in all, Eritrea has never been a separate state in history. It has always been part of Greater Ethiopia even before the Berlin Conference to Scramble Africa (1884/5).
- The government of Italy and Boutros Boutros-Ghali , the Former United Nations Secretary General of that time from Egypt were the main actors in Separating Eritrea and making Greater Geez Nation (Agaezi Ethiopia) landlocked, fragmented and geopolitically subjugated. TPLF together with EPLF did everything possible to fragment, weaken, impoverish and conquer the Agaezi community more than anybody in our history. This has to be rejected, condemned and abolished in a joint and integrated way as the Agaezi community and restore our Geez Civilization with its Red Sea. Agaezi National Union (ANU) has taken this generational role and is determined to realize it sooner or later together with Ethiopians and other international communities.
- The EPLF or People’s Front for Democracy and Justice military junta in Eritreahas no constitution and continoued with repeated aggressions against neighbouring countries, interfering with the sovereignty, territorial integrity or political independence of the Greater Horn of Africa states (such as Yemen (1994), Djibouti (1996 and 2008), Sudan (1994 and 2024), Ethiopia (1998 to 2000 and 2020 to 2022) embodling extremists, fueling violence, human trafficking, endangering millions of innocent communities lives through military intervention and terrorism.
- Agaezians or the Abyssinians are independent and free people who write and speak the Geez language. They inhabit the Nile River Basin and globally crucial areas of the Red Sea. Many archeological findings suggest the land of the Agaezians is the cradle of humanity. Currently the Agaezians are the largest group of indigenous people located in both Ethiopia and Eritrea. They comprise about 90 million people. Their vast civilization thrived for centuries. They controlled a large empire (Axumite empire) and global trade routes with links to the Roman Empire, Middle East and India. They had full control on both sides of the Red Sea, and they contributed tremendous knowledge in science, art, literature, medicine, astronomy, military science and theology. The Axumite Empire dates back to thousands of years before the birth of Christ that belongs to Greater Ethiopia with its Red Sea.
Therefore, ANU requests the official restoration of Greater Ethiopia’s Red Sea and Geezland illegally cut off in the name of Eritrea Temporary state. We urge and appreciate the collaboration of regional and global bodies such as AU, IGAD, UN, USA, EU, and BRICS political determination, willlingness, time, expertise, and looking forward to working with you throughout this process.
Thank you everyone for your understanding, collaboration and determination in this pertinent task of re-uniting the Greater Geez Ethiopia and look forward to working with you throughout this humble, hisorical, harmonious, sustainable peace and development journey in the Greater Horn of Africa.
