አክሱም ለዓለም አቀፍ ኦርቶዶክስ አማኞች ቅዱስና ተከበረ የግእዝ ምድር ናት። በተለይም ለአግዓዚ ሐበሻ ኢትዮጵያዊያን (እና ኤርትራዊያን) ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋህዶ ቤተክርስቲያን ከፍተኛ ማንነታዊ፣ ባህላዊ፣ መንፈሳዊና ታሪካዊ ማዕከል ናት። ለሚሊዮኖች ሓበሻ ብሔረ ኣግዓዚ/ግእዛዊት ኢትዮዽያ ከነቀይባሕርዋ አማኞች በእምነት፣ ባህል፣ ታሪክ፣ ቅርስ እና ቀጣይነት ባለው መንፈሳዊ ተስማሚነት ውስጥ የተመሠረተ ጥልቅ ትርጉም አላት። በቆይታ ያለ የቤተክርስቲያን መንፈሳዊ እምነት መሠረት፣ ከታቦተ ጽዮን ጋር የተያያዘ ብቸኛዋ የታቦተ ፅዮን/ፅላተ ሙሴ መንፈሳዊ መኖሪያ መሆኗ ትታመናለችም ትታወቃለችም።
ከዚህ ልዩ የመንፈሳዊ፣ የባህላዊና የታሪካዊ ክብር የተነሳ፣ አክሱም ለዘመናት እንዲትጠበቅና እንዲትጠናከር ይገባታል። እንደ ቅዱስ ከተማ ያላት ሁኔታ በልማት፣ በአስተዳደርና በባህላዊ ቅርስ ጉዳዮች ላይ ልዩ አስተያየት እንዲሰጥ ያስገድዳል። አክሱም በኦርቶዶክስ አማኞች ዘንድ እንደ ቅዱስ የግእዝ ክርስቲያናዊ ቅርስ ማዕከል ትቆጠራለች፤ በራሷ የሃይማኖት አውድ ውስጥ ከመካና ቫቲካን ከተማ ጋር ተመሳሳይ መንፈሳዊ ክብር አላት። ይህ መንፈሳዊ ክብር መታወቅና መከበር ይገባዋል። ልክ እንደቫቲካን ለብቻዋ ታጥራ በነባር ሕገ ክርስትያን/ንብረዕድ መተዳደር ይገባታል። ኣሁን ኣክሱም ውስጥ የመሸገው የትሕነግ ኮሚኒስት ሃይል ተጠራርጎ መውጣት ኣለበት።
አግዓዚ ብሔራዊ ህብረት ፓርቲ የሚከተሉትን መልእክቶችም ያጠናክራል፡-
፩) የአክሱም መንፈሳዊ ቅርስና ማንነት መጠበቅ፣
፪) ቅዱሳን ቦታዎችን በመጠበቅ የሃይማኖታዊ ተቋማት ዋና ሚና መከበር፣
፫) በአክሱም ውስጥና አካባቢዋ የሚካሄድ ማንኛውም ልማት ከመንፈሳዊ ባህሪዋ ጋር ተስማሚ እንዲሆን መደረግ።
፬) ከዚህ በተጨማሪ፣ እንደ አክሱም ያሉ ቅዱሳን ቦታዎችን የሚመለከቱ ውሳኔዎች በጥንቃቄ መወሰን እንዳለባቸው እና የመንፈሳዊ ባህሪያቸውና የታሪካዊ ልምዶቻቸው እንዲጠበቁ እንጠይቃለን።
፭) እንዲሁም የእነዚህ ቦታዎች ታሪካዊ እንክብካቤ በሃይማኖታዊ ባለሥልጣናት እንደተከናወነ መከበር አለበት፣ በአጠቃላይ የአስተዳደር መዋቅሮች ጋር ግን በመግባባት መስራት ይገባል።
በተመሳሳይ ጊዜ፣ ኢትዮጵያ በልዩ ልዩ ሃይማኖቶች መካከል በክብርና በሰላማዊ አብሮነት ላይ የተመሰረተ ማህበረሰብ መሆኗን እንገነዘባለን። የአክሱምን ቅዱስነት መጠበቅ ከውይይት፣ ከመግባባትና ከመረጋጋት ጋር ተመጣጣኝ መሆን አለበት።
ሁሉንም ባለድርሻ አካላት—የማህበረሰብ መሪዎች፣ የሃይማኖት አመራሮች እና የመንግስት ተቋማት—አክሱምን እንደ ዓለም አቀፍ የእምነት፣ የታሪክና የአንድነት ምልክት ለመጠበቅ በትብብር እንዲሰሩ እንጠራለን።
በኣክሱም ላይ መስጊድ እንሰራለን እያሉ ሽብር እየፈጠሩ ያሉትን የጀበርቲ ውሃብያ ጅሃዲስቶችና ተባባሪዎቻቸው በሙሉ ከኣክሱም ከተማ በኣሽቸኳይ መውጣት ይኖርባቸዋል። በመካ ላይ ቤተክርስትያን መሥራት እንደማይቻል ሁሉ፣ በኣክሱም ላይ ደግሞ መስጊድ መስራት ፈፅሞ የማይታሰብ ጉዳይ መሆኑ ሊሰመርበት ይገባል። ኣክሱም ለሁሉም በዓለም ላይ የሚገን ኦርቶዶክሥ እምነት ተከታይ ከሜካ ና ቫቲካን የምትበልጥ እንጂ የማታንስ ቅድስት ከተማ መሆኑዋ ሊታወቅ ይገባል።
በኣጠቃላይ የቅዱስ ቅርስ ጥበቃ የሁሉም የጋራ ኃላፊነት ነው። በክብር፣ በትብብርና በጥንቃቄ አስተዳደር አክሱም ለትውልዶች መንፈሳዊ ብርሃን ሆና ትቀጥላለች። ይህንን የማቀበል ካለ ሁሉም ኦርቶዶክስ ሊታገለው የግድ ይላል።

Aksum is a holy and sacred Ge’ez land for all Orthodox believers worldwide. Specifically, it stands as one of the most important spiritual and historical centers of the Agaezi Habesha Ethiopian (including Eritrean) Orthodox Tewahedo Church. For millions of faithful, it holds profound meaning rooted in centuries of faith, culture, history, heritage and religious continuity. According to longstanding Church tradition, it is revered as the spiritual home associated with the Ark of the Covenant.
Given its unique religious, cultural & historical significance, Aksum deserves careful protection and preservation for present and future generations. Its status as a sacred holy city calls for special consideration in matters of development, governance, & cultural heritage. Aksum is regarded by Orthodox believers as a sacred holy center of the Ge’ez Christian heritage, comparable in spiritual significance within its own religious context to cities such as Mecca in Islam & Vatican City in Catholicism. This spiritual importance should be recognized & respected.
The Agaezi National Union emphasizes: safeguarding Aksum’s religious heritage and identity, respecting the primary role of religious institutions in maintaining sacred sites, and ensuring that any development within or around Aksum is handled with the utmost sensitivity to its spiritual character. We further stress that decisions affecting sacred spaces such as Aksum should be approached with great care, ensuring that their religious character and long-standing traditions are preserved. The historical stewardship of such sites by religious authorities should be respected, while engaging constructively with broader governance frameworks.
At the same time, we recognize that Ethiopia is a diverse society built on principles of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among different religious communities. Protecting Aksum’s sanctity should go hand in hand with promoting dialogue, understanding, and stability. We call on all stakeholders—community leaders, religious authorities, and government institutions—to work collaboratively to preserve Aksum as a symbol of faith, history, and unity globally.
The protection of sacred heritage is a shared responsibility. Through respect, cooperation, and careful stewardship, Aksum can continue to serve as a spiritual beacon for generations to come.
