The Ethiopian People’s Triple Political Humiliation ! By Dr. Mekonnen Doyamo

The Ethiopian people’s triple humiliation under the kleptocratic government led by Abiy Ahmed in  Ethiopia has faced several humiliations:

The first humiliation occurred under the leadership of Meles Zenawi, who blocked access to the  Ethiopian sovereign port of Assab. Despite this setback, helpless Ethiopia’s 130 million people  remained silent.

The second humiliation involves a fake election orchestrated by Abiy Ahmed’s kleptocratic  government to manipulate the international community, including the United States. Once again,  helpless Ethiopian people stayed silent.

The third humiliation is linked to a false national dialogue people asked:

  1. A) In the Tigray region, Abiy Ahmed’s own handpicked representatives asked the leaders of his  dialogue group whether he should go; the response was unanimous: 100% agreed that he  must leave.
  2. B) In the Amhara region, a strong 97% of people demanded his departure, while in the Oromia  region, 75% expressed that Abiy must go first.
  3. C) South Ethiopian people, about 56 of language speakers: First, Abiy must go: 68%.

Eleven dialogue leaders, carefully selected by Abiy Ahmed, announced that the Ethiopian people  have proposed eight key agendas, including the controversial idea of changing the country’s name  to “Ethiopia,” which could have profound implications and potentially lead to widespread war.

Consequently, the situation remains critical, with millions at risk of eradication and loss of life  unless Almighty God and Ethiopia’s oldest and most steadfast ally intervene. This highlights the  pressing need for international awareness and possible action to address the unfolding crisis.

Dr. Mekonnen Doyamo

Thank you for your thoughtful reflection and your unwavering commitment to the future of our country, dear Dr. Mekonnen Doyamo. Your voice reminds us that history is not shaped by those who remain silent, but by those who have the courage to confront difficult realities and inspire meaningful change.

The challenges facing Ethiopia today are undeniable, but history also teaches us that no nation remains in crisis forever. Every period of national hardship creates an opportunity for renewal, provided there is principled leadership, a compelling vision, and citizens who are prepared to work for the common good.

At ANU, we believe that Ethiopia’s strength lies not in division, but in rediscovering the civilizational values that have sustained our people for generations—justice, dignity, unity, and shared responsibility. These principles must guide the country’s political transformation and national reconciliation.

Our responsibility as leaders is to replace despair with hope, fragmentation with unity, and fear with constructive action. We must continue engaging our fellow citizens, the Ethiopian diaspora, and the international community with credible ideas, respectful dialogue, and a clear vision for a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous future.

The path ahead will not be easy, but lasting change has always begun with individuals who refused to give up on their nation. Let us remain steadfast, disciplined, and united in our efforts to build an Ethiopia where every citizen enjoys dignity, equal opportunity, accountable governance, and lasting peace.

Together, through wisdom, perseverance, and collective action, we can contribute to a better future for Ethiopia and the Greater Horn of Africa.

With respect and solidarity,

Dr. Aregawi Mebrahtu
